Abstract

결론
저자는 전치부 개교를 주소로 내원한 환아들을 치료하고, 문헌을 고찰하여, 다음과 같은
치의학적 소견을 얻었기에 이에 보고하는 바이다.
1. 전치부 개교를 나타내는 성장기 아동에서 그 원인 및 골격적 특성에 따른 치료를 통해,
양호한 수직피개의 개선을 얻을 수 있다.
2. 치료의 예후는 습관의 유무 및 그 정도 보다는 내재된 골격적 특성에 따르는 것으로
사료된다.

Anterior openbite is defined as the lack of contacts between the functional occluding
teeth on vertical line at centric occlusion and classified into functional and skeletal
anterior openbite based on its causes and characteristics.
Anterior openbite causes masticatory, speech, and esthetic problems in the growing
children and difficulties in diagnosis, treatment, and the prediction of its prognosis.
We are reporting on the treatment of anterior openbite in the growing children and
the results follow as :
1. In the growing children with anterior openbite, the overbite could be increased by
the treatment according to its causes and characteristics.
2. The prognosis is not determined by the presence or severity of oral habit but the
skeletal tendency of the patient.
